Mr. Dusenbury limits his practice to real property and natural resources law, emphasizing oil and gas exploration and production issues. He received his B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1975 and his law degree from the University of Toledo School of Law in 1979. Mr. Dusenbury is admitted to practice in Colorado and North Dakota. Mr. Dusenbury began his career with the Exploration and Production department of Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1981, serving as a landman in the Mid-Continent, Rocky Mountain and West Coast/Alaska regions of their Western Division, primarily based in Denver, Colorado and ultimately as a Senior International Negotiator in the International Division in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
In 1988, Mr. Dusenbury and his new bride returned to Colorado to live on a cattle ranch in Norwood, Colorado, where he practiced real property and general business law for seven years, at which time they moved to Grand Junction with their young children, continuing his practice until 1999 when he became General Counsel for Central Point Services, LLC and a succession of internet ventures.
With the growth of the energy industry in Western Colorado, Mr. Dusenbury returned to the oil and gas business in 2005, as of counsel with Williams, Turner & Holmes, P.C.
Mr. Dusenbury was closely involved with Mesa County Valley School District 51 as his children progressed through the system, both of whom were highly successful graduates of Fruita Monument High School. He served on, and was chairman of, various school accountability committees and the District Long Range Planning Committee. He was also a youth soccer coach with the Grand Mesa Youth Soccer Association for nine years and past president of the Western Colorado Amateur Radio Club. He is currently a member of the Mesa County Search and Rescue Communications Team.
