James M. Colosky limits his practice to real property and natural resources law, emphasizing oil and gas exploration and production issues. He received his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1968 and his law degree from the University of Denver School of Law in 1971. Jim is admitted to practice in Colorado and Nebraska. Jim represents clients in real estate and natural resources matters, focusing on complex and esoteric real property conveyances and on oil and gas matters. He is a member of the Denver Association of Oil and Gas Title Lawyers and the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen. Jim frequently lectures to industry trade groups on a variety of matters relating to oil and gas exploration and development. He has also lectured on Antarctic law and policy. His published presentations include "The Reassignment Provision--The Agony in the Oversight," 30 Rocky Mt. Min. L. Inst. (1984), "The Implied Covenant for Diligent and Prudent Operations--Is It A Snake In the Green Grass of Environmentalism?," 39 Rocky Mt. Min. L. Inst. (1993), and "Express Grants of Rights of Way: Drafting Considerations," Rocky Mt. Min. L. Inst., Special Inst. on Rights-of-Way (1998). Mr. Colosky received the Burlington Natural Resources Law Fellowship at the Natural Resources Law Center, University of Colorado School of Law, during the spring semester, 1993.
